We continue our series on spatial planning solutions. Earlier, we shared what can be implemented in homes of 500, 1,000, 1,200, and 1,500 square meters.

A residence with a total area of 2,000 m² can comfortably accommodate a family with several children and still have space to welcome guests at any time. It can also include independent quarters for the estate manager and staff.

As always, we begin with the main residential block. The key functional spaces remain timeless — the living room, kitchen, dining area, and sleeping suites form the foundation of every residence.

Living rooms

A 2,000 m² residence typically includes several living rooms. It can feature multifunctional lounges on each floor or a combination of a grand two-story living room, a smaller family lounge, and a separate formal dining area for special occasions.

In the first case, the living room may integrate a lounge, dining, kitchen, and bar area. This open-space concept is currently in demand, as it creates a sense of freedom, allows for flexible living scenarios, and provides comfort when hosting guests.

For those seeking a grand, statement space, we recommend a double-height living room that connects the first and second floors. Such soaring ceilings make it possible to feature a luxurious lighting installation that captures attention and brings a sense of celebration to everyday life.

For example, in a residence in Abu Dhabi, we designed a lighting installation inspired by gently falling rose petals. In this project, the Studia 54 style is expressed through artistic elements, attention to detail, and an atmosphere that combines five-star luxury with the warmth of home.

A smaller living room can function as a TV area or lounge and, if desired, include a dining space for 6–8 people. It becomes the everyday gathering place for a large family — a cozy, informal setting designed for relaxation and shared moments.

Dining room

A formal dining room is an essential part of a luxury residence, setting the tone for celebration and togetherness. The dining area is designed to comfortably accommodate 15–20 guests, allowing both family festivities and elegant social events to take place.

The centerpiece of the composition can be a striking chandelier or a custom lighting installation that not only defines the ambiance of the occasion but also highlights the significance of every moment. Thoughtfully planned lighting enhances the atmosphere, encouraging easy conversation and a sense of celebration.

Panoramic glazing or artistic wall panels add grandeur to the space, making each event feel truly special.

Master suite

The master bedroom can comfortably accommodate a luxurious king-size bed, a reading corner, and, if desired, a lounge area near the TV zone.

Each room is typically complemented by a private walk-in closet with a carefully designed storage system and an en-suite bathroom.

The dressing room can be designed as a full-fledged boutique, complete with display cases for precious jewelry and couture gowns.

Spa area

We are used to thinking of a classic spa area as including a lounge, a large swimming pool, a sauna, and a hammam. However, we would like to propose alternative layout solutions and answer the question — what else can be added?

Beauty salon

A private beauty salon is the cherished dream of every elegant woman. Maintaining beauty requires not only resources but also time — and appointments with top professionals are often booked months in advance.

A personal beauty salon within the residence is an excellent solution for those who value their time and prefer not to wait. A visiting stylist can perform all necessary treatments on-site — from hairstyling and makeup to manicure and pedicure.

Massage room

A massage room brings true indulgence to a countryside residence. Imagine a weekend dedicated to complete relaxation — a series of treatments including massage, body wraps, scrubs, and endosphere therapy. This space can become a private oasis of serenity and rejuvenation.

Gym

We recommend dedicating around 100 m² to a home gym — a space equipped for strength, cardio, and functional training.

Suggested equipment:

• Exercise bike — for endurance and cardio workouts;
• Two treadmills — for running, brisk walking, warm-ups, and high-intensity training; Elliptical trainer — for joint-friendly, full-body exercise;
• Chest press machine — to strengthen the upper body;
• Back and shoulder trainer — targeting the latissimus dorsi and shoulder muscles;
• Multi-functional strength station — with upper and lower pulleys for different muscle groups.

It’s also important to include a storage area and a bar station — for example, along the wall, with space for towels, accessories, and refreshments.

Aerobics studio

If the wife or daughters enjoy functional workouts such as yoga, stretching, Pilates, or aerobics, it’s worth creating a separate studio designed for personal training sessions.

Wine room

Dedicating about 20 m² allows for the installation of four wine refrigerators and ten display racks for bottles. In the center of the room, a tasting table or bar counter can be placed to complete the atmosphere of a private wine cellar.

Kitchen

In a residence of this scale, the kitchen space deserves special attention. We suggest several layout options, each suited to different lifestyle scenarios.

The main kitchen, located within the residential block, becomes the heart of family life — a multifunctional space where the hostess can spend time with her children preparing breakfast or host guests in an informal setting.

Alternatively, a professional kitchen can be placed in the staff area. This allows the chef to create culinary masterpieces for large receptions without disturbing the privacy of the living quarters.

Billiard room

Billiards remains a popular pastime across many social circles — especially among the elite. Our clients can enjoy a game with colleagues without ever leaving home.

The room can be designed exclusively for a billiard table, perhaps complemented by a dartboard, or expanded to include arcade machines and other entertainment options. When designing such a space, it’s essential to consider the length of the cue to ensure freedom of movement and a comfortable playing experience.

Karaoke room

Game rooms equipped with PlayStation or Xbox are among the most requested features — but why not take it a step further and add karaoke?

To achieve a truly immersive experience, the room requires proper acoustic treatment and a small stage with a microphone setup. For anyone who has ever dreamed of a music career, this is the perfect opportunity — we believe dreams should come true at any age.

The space should be flexible and easily adaptable to different lifestyle scenarios. Today it might host a karaoke night with colleagues, and tomorrow it could serve as a rehearsal space for the family’s young talents. For the comfort of guests and listeners, the room should include cozy sofas and a bar counter.

Study room

In a 2,000 m² residence, it’s possible to create a dedicated study room for children. Around 30 m² is sufficient to accommodate two students and a teacher. This is an excellent solution both for families who prefer homeschooling and for inviting private tutors in various disciplines.

Zoning of the study room:

• Academic area with magnetic whiteboards and specialized equipment for exact sciences;
• Creative sector with easels, a pottery wheel, and a crafts zone;
• Music corner with sound insulation and space for instruments.

Personal lessons in music, art, or foreign languages are a lasting investment in the children’s education and development.
