560м²

For a 560 m² residence, the Studia 54 team has developed an architectural design for a two-storey house on a picturesque plot in Spain's most exclusive Golden Mile district, with attention to the climate, landscape and lifestyle of the customer.

A successful businessman and part-time father of a large family, he has always dreamed of a modern residence that fits seamlessly into the Mediterranean landscape, provides privacy and at the same time opens up scenes for communication with nature and sea views.

Architectural concept

The house is oriented on the site so that the main facades face north — this solution minimizes the direct sun exposure to the main living areas and allows you to create a cozy, protected exterior image.

The architecture of the building is made in the unique style of the southern houses of Studia 54. The color scheme of the facades is enhanced by the contrast of light porcelain stoneware and bronze aluminum inserts, a combination that sets the tone for the entire architecture.

The layout and life of the house

In our projects, we think over the layout, focusing on the life scenarios of the family. So, in the Golden Mile residence on the ground floor, a barbecue area with spectacular panoramic windows took the center stage - which was a special wish of the customer. It is organically connected to the kitchen-dining room for ease of use and eye contact with the garden. This solution enhances the function of hospitality and makes the day area flexible for receiving guests and family rituals.

It was important for the customer to equip the new house so that his family would like to spend more time together for various activities. Then we proposed the ideal solution for a large family with children, which will bring everyone closer and bring them together — a swimming pool area. Two outdoor and indoor pools became the center of attraction of the residence and provided an impeccable view of the sun-reflecting water surface from the windows.

On the second floor, we gave priority to the proper organization of children's areas: we distributed the area so as to preserve the picturesque views from the windows. The basement level combines a garage, technical rooms and service rooms — the logic of the number of floors is thought out while preserving household logistics and privacy of residential areas.

Special attention is paid to service scenarios: laundry, technical room of the pool, rooms for security and maintenance staff — all this guarantees convenient operation without unnecessary intersections with the private area of the family.

Materials and climate

The facades of the residence are lined with light natural stone and complemented with HPL panels made of bronzed aluminum, designed according to personal sketches. Tinted glass openings create a play of light and shadow, and the entrance panel, custom-made in a wooden frame, reflects the local flavor and leaves an unforgettable first impression on the guests of the house.

The flat roof with a membrane coating organically emphasizes the building's horizons, and the hidden water drainage system makes the house resistant to coastal humidity and seasonal winds.

The project takes into account the climatic parameters of the region: the average winter temperature is about 11.2 °C, the average summer temperature is 26.4 °C, the duration of daylight varies from 7 hours in winter to 12.8 hours in summer. These characteristics determined the decisions on the orientation of the plan, the selection of glazing and solar shading systems.

In particular, we have positioned the pool area so that it does not overheat during the hot season, but also remains a place for sunbathing in the afternoon hours.

Courtyard and sea view

An inner courtyard has been formed in front of the house, a recreation space that simultaneously serves as a gentle transition between architecture and the natural environment. The northern windows offer a picturesque view of the sea: the line of the sandy beach seems to dissolve into the blue of the horizon, giving the impression that the landscape seamlessly continues the atmosphere of the site.

There is a comfortable lounge area next to the pool for the whole family of the customer. «Levitating» sun beds and fountains as art objects are the branded design solutions of Studia 54 when designing a swimming pool, which we describe in more detail in our article.

The Studia 54 team approached the task comprehensively: from analyzing everyday scenarios and logistics of movements to working out each shape and detail according to the author's sketches. The result is a residence where luxury is expressed in proportion and silence, and architecture becomes a reflection of the customer's personality.
