Interior design of a duplex apartment in Croatia

We had the task to maximize the advantages of the free layout of the first floor and to functionally place the master unit and one guest room on the second floor. The original layout had an irregular shape, but we decided to turn the disadvantages in our favor. The result was a space with a main living-dining-kitchen unit, a gym and a sauna. In this way we were able to take into account the customer's wish not to lose the feeling of greater spaciousness and to keep coziness in each separate zone. In the central space of the interior there was enough natural light, thanks to the panoramic windows of the villa, and this allowed the artificial lighting to be rather decorative. The lighting fixtures created by our design team became the main accents in the living and dining areas. After long meetings with the customers' family, our team chose blue and red as the main accent in the interior. It appears in the finish of upholstered furniture, kitchen fronts and bathroom cabinet furniture, in decorative elements.

Design thinking forms the image of the living room as the heart of the whole house, becoming a home theater, an informal meeting room, a place of family rest, and sometimes even a working area. The key problem of organizing a large living room area is the ergonomic arrangement of furniture and the design of the wall behind the TV. The secret of effective timeless design - symmetrical arrangement of side false panels or storage systems, as well as a compact cabinet for magazines or game console. The spectacular living room interior of this project consists of a marble TV niche, a large combined shelving unit, a modern sculpture and a furniture group from Eichholtz and Baxter.

Most of the furniture was custom-made to our sketches by local craftsmen. The project went through several stages of approval, and with the appearance of each new layer the interior became richer in color. The combination of styles and shades did not prevent us from creating a comfortable and harmonious environment. In the center of the kitchen-living room there is a bar island in leather finish with a protruding bar counter. The straight kitchen unit has a marble niche and combined, black matte milled and bronze metal facades. Two refrigeration systems, an air grill and multiple dishwashers are provided. The kitchen is zoned with pastel gray painted walls and marble flooring, while the dining area is highlighted with Store 54 wood paneling and a suspended glass chandelier.

The project's master bedroom is done in chic pastel shades, and its main decoration is the wall panels in the headboard and paired ball pendants. Vittoria Frigerio's bed in gray-coffee velour and an elegant blue Minotti banquette. The lounge area by the window is a combination of armchair and footstool in pied-de-poule fabric. When placing the bed by the window, we always choose dense curtains in a neutral gray shade. A large gray carpet on the floor creates a sense of a single harmonious space, visually enlarging the room, continuing the finish of the headboard. In addition to beauty and coziness, the soft covering reduces the noise level in the bedroom and provides a comfortable atmosphere for sleeping.

The interior of modern bathrooms is transformed into a home spa, for those very moments of serenity that become an indispensable component of well-being. When designing a bathroom, it is necessary to pay special attention to finding a balance between functional, aesthetic solutions and non-standard experiments, in the spirit of modernity.
