The Oriental design method

Oriental style in premium architecture in 2026-2027 is becoming the main trend among our customers. Oriental principles simultaneously solve several tasks: privacy, visual silence, proximity to nature, protection from the sun, flexibility of routes. Thanks to these characteristics, the house gets an expressive image, thoughtful functionality and emotional depth.

This approach is particularly relevant for large private residences. In them, architecture should support different scenarios: family life, receiving guests, staff work, relaxing by the water, spa, tea ceremonies, privacy and joint evenings.

Indonesia

In the project of a private residence in Indonesia, oriental aesthetics arose from a request from customers originally from Japan. They wanted to transfer the architectural style close to them into the natural context of the tropics, preserving calm horizontal lines and connection with the landscape.

The 850 m2 residence is built on a system of single-storey volumes, deep overhangs, indoor gardens and covered walkways. This structure protects the house from the sun and precipitation, opens the premises to the water and garden, and separates the routes of the family, guests, and staff.

In this project, the techniques of oriental architecture simultaneously shape the image of the house and adapt it to the climate. Wide overhangs provide shade, panoramic glazing keeps in touch with nature, and the layout maintains privacy even with open architecture.

Satori

Our new customers often use this house as a reference for their projects. The Satori project in Moscow shows a different scenario: Japanese aesthetics in a northern climate. The customer was creating a house for his wife, who was born and raised in Japan, so the architecture had to convey the cultural environment she was familiar with and at the same time work in the conditions of the Moscow region.

The 3,000 m2 house is built on a restrained composition, panoramic windows, an inner courtyard, a garden of stones, dry streams and water elements. The decoration uses kumaru wood, concrete and natural textures. The central kitchen-living room has received a two-light volume so that more natural light enters the house.

The personal history of the family is revealed through everyday rituals. A separate tea house has been added to the main building for tea ceremonies. Sliding panels help to control the light, privacy and perception of the facade. The pool is designed as a year-round area with sliding panels and a light lamp.

Satori reveals the oriental style through the personal history of the family. Walks in the garden, tea ceremonies, relaxing by the water and a chamber courtyard become part of the architecture of everyday life.

Vietnam

In Vietnam, the oriental style is revealed through vertical zoning and precise work with family scenarios. The 630 m² Kanso no Ie residence is located on a plot of 760 m². The house is designed for spouses, two children, a brother and a sister of the owners. Each adult unit has its own bedroom, bathroom and dressing room.

The main objective of the project was to balance an expressive silhouette, functionality and a limited building area. The third floor is visually facilitated by panoramic glazing. Private areas are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, which enhances the view characteristics and acoustic comfort.

The choice of materials is based on the contrast of light and dark surfaces.: travertine porcelain stoneware, black ceramics, architectural concrete, kumaru wood and perforated metal blinds. These elements give depth to the facade and create a play of light and shadow typical of modern Asian architecture.

Kanso no Ie shows how oriental style helps to organize the life of a large family inside a compact plot. The advantage of this concept lies in a clear hierarchy of spaces: public areas on the ground floor, private blocks above, and an entrance group as an expressive architectural accent.

Hungary

The Hungarian residence Kokoro no Niwa with an area of 2,220 m² reveals the oriental style through a large scale and complex structure of the site. The young couple wanted to integrate their interest in Japanese culture into the architecture of their own home, while maintaining a high level of comfort and privacy.

Here, Japanese aesthetics are developed through an indoor garden, guest and private areas, a spa block, terraces, materials and routes. Architectural concrete, HPL panels, porcelain stoneware and fibreglass with mosaic patterns due to different textures and shades are used in the decoration.

The main element of the project is a Japanese garden. Pine trees, ginnala maple, Thunberg's barberry, junipers, pachysandra and groundcover plants are used in the courtyard. Rocks, dry streams, gravel, and voids define the structure of space. A decorative waterfall accentuates the entrance group, and illuminated footpaths connect the functional areas of the site.

The terraces are equipped with shoji partitions and wooden lattice frames. They regulate the light, create a play of shadows and form a more intimate state of the open areas. In this project, the oriental style works as a system: architecture, garden, routes and privacy are combined into one scenario of life.

What sets the trend

The popularity of the oriental style in 2026-2027 is associated with changing expectations of a premium residence. For customers, silence, privacy, working with the climate, communication with the garden, a sense of security and the opportunity to live in their own rhythm are increasingly important.

The status of a house is increasingly determined by decorative saturation. The quality of the layout, the complexity of hidden solutions, natural materials and the comfort of daily scenarios come to the fore.
