Working with this customer has become a long-term creative dialogue for us. He had previously entrusted the Studia 54 team with the development of an architectural design for his 1,500 m² private residence in Kolkata. After the implementation of the landscape solution on a 20 hectare plot, we moved on to the final and most ambitious stage — the creation of an interior.

The architecture, landscape and interior were developed within the framework of an integrated approach, which became the key to accurate and successful implementation. All solutions were built taking into account the principles of Vastu — from the orientation of spaces and scenarios of life to working with light, materials and proportions. This made it possible to create a harmonious environment for social events.

The customer dreamed of a guest residence in Kolkata for hosting guests and celebrations, where architecture and interior design would become a full-fledged part of important events. The house is designed to accommodate up to 100 people at a time, so the key objectives were a sense of spaciousness, visual integrity and a wow effect on the first impression.

It was crucial for the customer to receive a truly exclusive project in which the interior is formed by the author's installations made to order according to a personally designed sketch.

Ground floor

A lounge for formal evenings

The main living room with a bar, the center of attraction of the villa, is designed as an open space for receptions as possible. With an area of over 70 m² and a well-thought-out layout, it is possible to integrate large-scale author's objects: a light installation made of glass petals and a decorative panel made of the finest threads, in which each of the numerous guests of the villa can read their own meaning.

The bar area is designed as an island made of natural onyx with integrated lighting. All beverage storage systems, dishes, refrigerator and ice maker are hidden from view, maintaining the cleanliness and elegance of the space.

Dining area and lounge for relaxation

The second living room, combined with a dining area, is designed for a more relaxed social format. There are comfortable sofa groups, a large screen and the possibility of installing a decorative electric fireplace that creates an atmosphere of comfort without heat stress — a key moment for the climatic conditions of India.

The dining area is organized around a table for 18 people, which can be transformed into a buffet if necessary. We have provided for the possibility to completely remove all chairs to the walls without disturbing the circulation of space. The key focus was the author's ceiling installation, a continuation of the metaphor of hospitality.

The serving buffet is integrated into the wall between the dining area and the living room, which allows it to be used as functionally as possible during events.

The guest bathroom has become a separate design accent: a golden palette with dark blue accents, designer mirrors and spectacular ceiling installations form a memorable image and emphasize the status of the house.

The residence is equipped with a smart home system and ceiling speakers evenly distributed on all levels, which allows you to control the atmosphere and scenario of any event with a single touch.

The entrance group

The color palette of the interior is based on noble shades of bronze, champagne, gold and warm brown, with careful use of dark accents, in accordance with the basic principles of Vastu — the Indian philosophy of harmonious organization of space.

At the request of the customer, we minimized the empty surfaces: the walls are decorated with original panels, sculptural compositions and decorative installations.

The central focus is a large — scale ceiling composition, a single artistic object that makes a strong visual impression. Over the course of a long collaboration with the customer, it became clear that the interior requires imaginative depth. In this way, symbolism and metaphors have become an integral part of the space, enhancing its emotional impact.

The Studia 54 team interpreted this idea through the motif of a flowering tree: a sign of prosperity, hospitality and the continuous flow of life. The luminous petals, made in a warm palette of champagne and ivory, slowly descend, creating a sense of movement and lightness in the large-scale, monumental volume of the hall.

Second floor

There is a master unit on the second floor. The interior is decorated in golden shades with terracotta and emerald accents. The wall panel is made of onyx, malachite and other semi-precious stones, combined in a complex composition with natural graphics and depth of color.

Everything is provided here for the convenience of the customer's dear guests: a personal shower room, a large screen for evening movie screenings and, of course, a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape from the window.

We paid special attention to the selection of exclusive furniture, as the customer is a true connoisseur of designer brands. So, in the master block, we matched the Vida Classic bed from the FiftyFourms furniture brand in an exclusive gold color to the bedroom interior.

Third floor

The third floor is reserved for a lounge area and a terrace. The space is designed for up to 10 people and seamlessly transitions to an outdoor recreation area. The main reference that served as inspiration for the roof of the house was our project in Qatar. Panels with a wood texture have been developed for canopies and cornice linings, and mesh structures are made of durable polymer materials according to our sketches.

The terrace with pool and bar is inspired by Middle Eastern aesthetics. We paid special attention to privacy by placing a perimeter fence made of flower and palm plants. They protect the pool area without overloading the architecture, and echo the rest of the site's landscape.

The 1,500 m² Studia 54 project with a customer from Calcutta is a fruitful collaboration, and we appreciate such productive projects. Each design solution reflects the unique wishes of the customer, his lifestyle and commitment to hospitality at the highest level. The residence has become an ideal place for special events, just as the owner dreamed of.
