The master bedroom project, 130 m², inspired by the romance of autumn
The most unique design solutions often arise from the client’s personal story, observations of nature, and the ability to combine these images in one space. In the new Studia 54 project, the starting point was the love story of a young couple: an Omani prince and his chosen one.
They met in the UK in the autumn, and this season became especially important for them. The warm light, the deep shades of foliage, the damp sheen of wood, the softness of the textiles, and the sense of quiet solitude we transferred to the interior of the master bedroom in their villa on the coast of Oman.
The client approached Studia 54 with a request for a natural image in the most private space of the house and fully entrusted the team with the choice of artistic direction, materials, and stylistic solution. For us, the autumn leaf fall became an image that combined the memory of the first meeting, the atmosphere of English autumn, and the southern context of an Omani villa.
The final result met the expectations of the team and the client. The autumnal vibe is evident from the very first minutes spent in the room: deep brown and terracotta shades, warm wood, soft textiles, textured walls, and lighting elements create an intimate atmosphere. The space immediately sets the mood for relaxation, quiet, and a long, peaceful sleep.
The color palette in the master bedroom interior
This project was one where the selection of shades, materials, and items required special attention and precision. Our task was to “literally” convey the feeling of autumn: the depth of the earth, the warm light, the moist sheen of leaves, the velvety texture of textiles, and the soft glow of the evening.
The interior is built around shades of terracotta, caramel, amber, dark wood, chocolate, bronze, and black metal. Each piece of furniture, the color of the walls, the art objects, and the decorative details have their own character, yet together they form a cohesive autumn landscape.
The value of this project lies in its multi‑layered nature. One symbol conceals another, and it is their combination that creates the desired atmosphere. In the master bedroom, we managed to “hide” another important theme for a young family: a love of equestrian sports and horses.
The wall panel behind the bed became the main carrier of this personal motif. Its texture resembles a soft, natural surface, and the silhouettes of horses can be discerned in the plasticity of the pattern. This technique makes the image of the interior more profound: we are presented with a personal story of a couple, encoded in the textures, lighting, and composition.
The layout logic of the master block
The master bedroom, with an area of 130 m², is designed as a separate private world within the villa. The layout divides the space into several scenarios: the central sleeping area, a lounge by the panoramic window, a study area, a round dressing room, and a beauty zone.
The composition is built around the central axis. In its center is a bed on a round podium. Behind it is a dressing room, and on either side are relaxation and work areas. Thanks to this, the bedroom is perceived as a gentle route, where each state has its own place: sleep, rest, reading, work, self‑care, and preparation for going out.
The round shape became the main design feature in the project. It is repeated in the podium, the ceiling niche, the wardrobe, the carpets, the upholstered furniture, and the lighting arrangements. Thanks to this, the interior looks cohesive, and the theme of leaf fall acquires a three‑dimensional interpretation through movement, plasticity, and a smooth transition between zones.
Sleeping area
The centerpiece of the master bedroom is a bed placed on a round podium. This design element separates the sleeping area from the rest of the space and creates a sense of coziness. The bed seems to be enveloped by wooden vertical elements and decorative partitions.
On either side, the sleeping area is framed by wooden structures and partitions with dark rods and volumetric elements. They provide privacy, retain air, and allow you to see the other parts of the room. The space remains open, but psychologically the bed is perceived as the most protected point in the master block.
The light installation above the bed resembles dark autumn leaves suspended in the air. The glossy elements catch the warm light and create soft reflections on the ceiling, wood, and textiles. Thanks to this, the sleeping area looks intimate and lively.
The textiles support the overall palette: a terracotta headboard, a chocolate-colored bedspread, pillows with a graphic texture, and a Balance bench made of llama fur from the FiftyFourms brand at the foot of the bed.
Lounge by the window
To the left of the sleeping area, there is a lounge area by the panoramic window. This is the brighter part of the master bedroom, where daylight and a view of the forest appear. Here you can read, drink coffee, talk, or spend time away from the main sleeping area.
The lounge is designed in the same natural shades, but it has a lighter feel. A soft couch, an armchair, small tables, a floor lamp, and a round rug create a peaceful place to relax. Decorative screens and wooden panels continue the overall plasticity of the project, while daylight reveals the texture of the wood and the warm pattern of the floor.
This area makes the master bedroom a fully functional private living room. Here you can spend part of the day, enjoy the view in solitude, and at the same time be within the private space of the couple.
The study area
To the right of the bed is the study. It is separated from the sleeping area by decorative partitions and a black sculptural panel, which makes it look intimate and secure. At the same time, the study remains part of the overall volume of the bedroom.
For this area, a Petal desk by FiftyFourms in Black Anegri finish has been selected. Its smooth shape supports the overall plasticity of the interior, while the dark tabletop and expressive base add a more focused character to the area.
The armchairs in terracotta shades continue the autumn palette and soften the rigidity of the office space. The curved shelves behind the desk form a library and a space for personal items. Books, vases, sculptures, and decorative objects add depth to the space, while the local lighting creates a scenario for reading, working, and evening conversations.
Planning, materials, detailed specifications and implementation control
The boutique wardrobe
Behind the sleeping area lies a round wardrobe. In terms of layout, it is an independent space with radius‑shaped wardrobes, open sections for clothing, niches for bags and decorative items, a central soft bench, and an expressive hanging composition.
The round shape creates an atmosphere of a salon or boutique in the wardrobe. This is a place to choose an outfit, take care of yourself, and engage in a personal ritual. Here, storage becomes part of the aesthetic: clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, and decorative items are arranged around the central composition.
The upper light dome with a warm pattern resembles a translucent autumn leaf. Beneath it is a suspended composition made of metal elements in caramel, copper, and amber shades, created by the Dutch artist Joris Kieers.
In the “Jardin Suspendus” and “In Bloom” series, Kieers recreates the feeling of a garden through three‑dimensional floral forms. They overlap, swell, seem to open up in motion, and transform the installation into a living natural image. For our project, this work became a continuation of the theme of leaf fall and intensified the feeling of autumn in the most private space of the villa.
The central bench with a golden seat supports the theme of decoration, jewelry, and personal space. The entire scenario of the dressing room is built around it: moving in a circle, choosing clothes, trying them on, lighting, a mirror, and preparing to go out.
Beauty zone
The dressing room includes a separate area for a vanity table. The chosen piece is Artistry by FiftyFourms in Chestnut Caramel shades. Its soft geometry, round mirror, and warm inserts harmonize well with the overall aesthetic of the project.
The vanity table transforms the dressing room from a storage area into a space for transformation. Here, you can calmly get ready for the evening, prepare for a night out, or carry out your morning ritual in a separate, beautiful area.
Soft zoning
Decorative partitions play an important role in the project. They create soft boundaries between zones without turning the bedroom into a set of separate rooms. Around the bed, the partitions function as a translucent shell that protects the sleeping area and preserves the scale of the entire space.
The wooden and metal elements of the partitions echo branches, stems, and natural graphics. In the lounge area, a more free‑form structure appears, while in the study area, a black sculptural panel adds depth and a sense of intimacy.
This is how privacy is created in layers: the podium, partitions, columns, textiles, lighting, and color gradually separate one zone from another. For a bedroom with an area of 120 m², this is especially important, because a large volume must remain private, well‑thought‑out, and cozy.
Light installations and art objects
Lighting and art objects play a special role for the client, which is in line with the philosophy of Studia 54. Therefore, the lighting in the project forms a separate artistic system: from the integrated lighting in the cabinets to the main ceiling installation above the bed.
The main installation resembles leaves at the moment of falling. Glossy dark shapes create soft highlights and enhance the depth of the autumn palette. We integrated the princess’s personal art collections into the interior in such a way that they became an organic complement to the author’s concept.
The dressing room uses a different lighting scenario: hanging elements in copper, amber, and caramel shades create the feeling of leaves falling under a light dome. Softer local light sources appear in the lounge area and the study: table and floor lamps, hidden shelf lighting, and soft, diffused lighting along the walls.
Each part of the master bedroom gets its own mood. The sleeping area is darker and deeper, the lounge by the window is lighter, the study is more focused, and the dressing room is more solemn. All zones are united by a single light spectrum: warm, amber, evening.
The floor has become yet another way to convey the movement of autumn leaf fall. Its pattern is assembled from flexible wooden fragments that resemble leaves lying on top of each other after the wind. This graphic is clearly visible in the aisles, near the podium, in the recreation area, and near the dressing room.
The wooden panels on the walls create a warm backdrop for the furniture, lighting elements, and decorative partitions. The dark wood makes the space feel more mature and intimate, and the soft lighting accentuates its texture.
The master bedroom of the villa on the coast of Oman has become an interior that reflects the beauty of the moment, nature, and the personal story of the young couple. In this project, Studia 54 created a full‑fledged master suite where the natural landscape, family history, and the clients’ individual habits were transformed into a private and personal space.
