Area
1500м²
Studia 54 developed unique solutions for a 1500 m²
plot of land with a finished house in Switzerland, taking into account all the nuances of the terrain and the wishes of the client. The project is undoubtedly dominated by a perennial maple tree with a dense crown spreading across the plot. Landscape designers and architects carefully treated the existing relief so as not to harm the tree. The result is a functional space
with areas for quiet and active recreation that maintains the aesthetics of the local nature and complies with Swiss building regulations.
Land specifics and constraints
One of the main challenges of this project was the slope of the site, which required careful planning and attention to details. In addition, Swiss building regulations include strict restrictions, especially in protection zones around mature trees with massive root bases.

Therefore, we paid attention to a large tree, the century-old maple Platanus x acerifolia
, in order not to disturb the natural environment and to preserve the ecosystem of the site. This unique tree species became the dominant feature of the entire landscape design concept. It was important for us and our customer to emphasise its majestic natural beauty
, as the presence of such a plant object on the plot is a great pride for the owner of the house.
Preserving natural beauty
Around the old maple, we have created a protective zone with gravel paths with a water permeable surface so that the root system is not damaged. By the way, we have retained all the trees on the site, only adding new plants that grow in the region.
Decorative solutions
Near the picturesque tree, a hearth area is provided, where the whole family can enjoy a warm fire. Its concept fits perfectly into the topography without disturbing the ecosystem. Throughout the garden, the designer has provided planters with plants that can be easily moved. These mobile elements add variable scenarios to the garden concept and make it easy to adapt it according to the owners' wishes and seasonal changes.

The grand entrance is crowned by a cascading fountain with sculpture. This water element creates a sense of harmony and tranquillity, welcoming guests with the gurgling of a waterfall.

Around the house there are walkways with luminescent lighting. This solution for the paths will emphasise the beauty of the night garden.

Active recreation area
At the back of the yard, at the customer's request, a zone with a special sports surface was provided. In it, we placed outdoor fitness equipment and a basketball hoop. Here you can enjoy active games and training in the fresh air.

In our projects, we do not battle with nature, but integrate it harmoniously into the concept. In the process, the designer creates a real dialogue with the environment, so that in the end every element, from wood to stone, creates a harmonious composition.
