Villa Roho in Kenya
We’re very glad to finally introduce our newest project on the аfrican continent, in the evergreen tropical forests of Kenya, for several generations of a big family. Villa Roho is located in the capital of Kenya, Nairobi
, and it is the first project in Africa by Studia 54.
The name originated from Swahili, and “roho” means soul. Our unique approach in architecture makes it possible to create live, sensory architecture that is united with the natural landscape and provides their owners with comfortable living solutions for a long time.

Villa Roho in Kenya
The unfolding architecture of the house is revealing itself from every side. The water and earth element, expressed in stunning landscape design and decorative waterfalls
, are inscribed in the architecture, bringing the design to life and preserving the ecosystem. Pergolas with sliding glass roofs, designed specifically for the wet season, laconic, and durable natural materials
, synchronised layout – they all reflect the spirit of time.

Unfolding architecture has become a combination of minimalism, expressed in the choice of finishing materials, and neo-organic functionalism
Firstly, our main task was to design a house
on a steep relief, due to the fact that the house is located in the Great Rift Valley, where baobabs and acacias are growing. Hence why, this three-story house
is erected on piles. Secondly, it is owned by a big family, and it was necessary to adapt the functional part of the project
to every person’s lifestyle and special needs.

Main entrance, pergolas with sliding glass roofs
The entrance lobby is one of the most unique places
in the house. The large front door is made of a one-piece glass unit, 3.2 meters high and pivoting with offset axis. Special ramps were constructed for the older generation. At the request of the younger generation, we included a garage for 6 cars
in the courtyard. One of the most innovative solutions is a sliding glass system for pergolas. Even taking into account the heaviness of the structure
, this glass doors will move smoothly and silently.

Quality architecture is based on the balance between volumetric and planning solutions and functional zoning of the premises
Covered peculiar leisure zone with a hearth on separate piles was designed as a treepod.

Hearth with a lounge zone is located on a separate piles and connected to the second floor
Plenty of natural light, breaking of the boundaries between interiors and surrounding nature
, flat roof, precise geometric shapes, panoramic glazing are the key features of this project. Landscape compositions have become a part of the architecture. The original and thoughtful landscape design
emphasizes the dignity and monumentality of the house.

Symbiosis of nature and architecture
In our architecture we use noble materials, such as porcelain stoneware, clinker bricks and heat-resistant wood to achieve the laconic look and functional layout. High-tech and environmentally friendly materials
allow the house to harmoniously fit into the natural landscape, and increase its value over time.

Decorative waterfalls
The absolute uniqueness of this project reveals itself on every side of the villa. Every detail is striking. This home is a homage to monumental grace
, an idea of impeccable simplicity expressed through intricate construction and high-quality design. Unfolding organic architecture is the architecture of comfortability
that not only balances the indoor and the outdoor but also creates the most positive effect on physical and mental health.

Main staircase with integrated lighting
Our philosophy is based on the fact that your home environment
primarily influences your social and personal life, therefore every project has to be personalised. We develop projects that can improve people's lives
, taking into consideration environmental status as well. The symbiosis of natural elements and inorganic construction is the architecture of the future.

Bar, sideview
Outdoor terraces and SPA areas, hobby zones, guest rooms – it is the variety of spaces and functional zoning that make your house a favourite place for every family member with different lifestyles.

Each open area of this project has its own peculiarity
. For example, for the bar area with a biofireplace, we chose a large island made of a solid slab of white-grey marble and light Abachi wood.

Terrace on the ground floor with a soft furniture
We create new, living architecture for a fulfilling life with absolute level of comfort
. Our approach allows us to design and build houses in any country, all over the world. Each and every project is a manifesto of functionality, aesthetics, human-centred design, and harmonious balance with nature, all united by the spirit of age. ⠀
